My Students

My students are energetic and creative. We have a high population of students who live at or below the poverty level. A lot of our students face struggles that no child should have to face. Despite those struggles, my students show up, participate, show kindness and understanding towards each other and demonstrate determination.

I love watching my students get excited about learning.

Throughout the year, I am able to witness the pride they feel when they finish a book or show mastery of a new concept. In language arts, we get to read and write about a variety of topics. Some of those topics are deep and personal. I love to hear my students share their unique perspectives and I especially love to witness their empathy and understanding towards one another.

My Project

I teach middle school students. They are generally required to sit in desks six or more hours a day. I want to provide my students with flexible seating, which means that they will have opportunities to move around and choose seating or standing options that fit with their comfort and preference. I remember being in middle school and already having a backache at the young age of 13!

I believe that flexible seating will help my students stay focused, enjoy comfortable seating options, and engage in a variety of educational activities.

Students should have opportunities to move around and take pleasure in a variety of seating options. Please help my students to have healthy and comfortable seating.
