My students are special because they are all unique in their own way and bring something extra special to the classroom. I currently have 9 students enrolled in my Autistic Support classroom and each individual has their own needs and supports in order to be successful.
Within the classroom, we like to do a lot of moving around as we have certain sensory needs but with lack of resources and materials, we have found that often more times than not having difficulty being able to concentrate and get work done.
We would like the ability to do more things hopefully with the needed resources and equipment to make learning fun and exciting!
Given the materials requested such as the rug, couch and table, my students will given the ability to sit in a variety of ways in order to succeed in the classroom. The students can sit at a table, or sit on a comfy couch or just simply sit on the rug. The ability of flexible seating can go a long way for the students and their education.
Many of my students have difficulty sitting still for longer periods of time when it comes to instruction, therefore, need the ability to have flexibility within the classroom as we strive for the most least restrictive environment throughout the school day.
