I teach some fantastic second graders at a Title 1 School that serves a diverse population of learners. More than half of our population qualifies for free and reduced lunch. Every day my students come from many different places and many different circumstances, but they are all ready to learn!
Their smiles each morning remind me everyday why I became a teacher!
In my classroom, I strive to create a positive learning environment that celebrates differences and makes all of my students feel comfortable and excited to learn!
My Project
My students need flexible seating options to better meet their individual needs. It is no secret that children need to move. When children cannot move, they can become distracted and disruptive. Many of my students have a very difficult time sitting in traditional seats. Wobble chairs and cushions will allow my students to focus and direct their attention toward their learning.
Flexible seating will allow them the freedom to choose how they learn and give them a more comfortable setting.
Just think of a time where you were in a seat that was uncomfortable. How did it affect your ability to focus? These wobble chairs and cushions will help all of my students divert their energy toward their learning. I can not wait to see the changes this will bring in my class!
