This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

They like to move, which is important for them to learn.

They love to read and love lots of positive attention.

I teach at a Title I school in Florida where 82% percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch and 67% of the population is Hispanic.

My Project

The kick bands will be used for all of the students´desks for kicking their way through instruction. This will allow students to sit and wiggle when completing their rigorous work. Students will no longer fall asleep due to a hard chair or tip the chair to one side in order to move. These chairs would also give the students an option to sit somewhere other than their own chair.

By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will allow students different ways to do their work, whether it’s using a kickback or a different colored chair.
