My Students

More than three-quarters of my students come from low-income households. My class is a mix of regular education students and students that have special needs. We work as class to treat all students with respect and embrace our differences.

My students have many obstacles to overcome but I want them to know at school they are safe and loved.

I started using a stool last week as the student of the weeks seat. My students so excited about the new seating options. One students said " I'm working to get that stool next week." It always amazes me that something so simple can motivate students.

My Project

This flexible seating will help my students that struggle with ADHA and sensory disorders. Students that have options to wiggle and move while seated will stay focused longer. All students can benefit from seating options. They are excited when new seating choices are presented and want to work to earn chance to use the new seating.

The yoga balls will be used for students as seating options instead of a typical chair.

Student will have expectations on how to use this as a seat. The balance disks will be placed in students chairs and used on the carpet to allow a little movement while listening and learning.
