Help me give my students more flexible seating options with the balance balls, the wobble cushions and the wobble chair. My students also need a timer to keep them on task.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Many of my class qualifies for free or reduced rate lunch. My students are diverse learners that all need something different from school. Students in my class are given access to flexible seating, fidgets, and a Makerspace every day in order to better their learning.
Our classroom is full of diverse, excited learners who need a flexible space to learn.
My goal is to create a caring classroom community where my students feel valued and a sense of belonging. My students teach me just as much as I teach them and we are all excited for the year to come.
My Project
My students will benefit from this timer to help them transition. We transition a lot in our class and the students need a warning on when they should begin finishing up their work or cleaning up their flexible seating.
My students will benefit from this flexible seating because many of my students have found that they need to move while learning.
While experimenting with different types of seating, many have found that sitting on the balls and moving are most effective for their learning. Currently, we only have two balls so this project will allow more students to benefit from movement while they work.
