My Students

I work at the most amazing school in rural Georgia! We are located in a small, one red light town. This school is my home. I attended and graduated from this school, so being able to teach here has been a dream come true.

Everyone works together, and our school is one big happy family.

Being from such a small place, allows us to really get to know our students. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch due to being such a low income area. The students work hard and are very respectful. As we always say: God Bless and Go Dawgs!

My Project

Students get so tired of sitting in traditional chairs all day long. Bean bags would allow my students to be comfortable while reading. I currently have 3 bean bags which the students argue over because there are not enough for everybody. Having additional bean bags would allow each person in our small groups to have their own place to sit and read.

The students love to sit/lay on these bean bags to read their books.

They tend to be more engaged with their library books while on the bean bags. We would really like to have more bean bags for our classroom. Please help make reading fun for our classroom!
