Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are very motivated to learn. The students are well-behaved, friendly, and caring towards one another. They love to come to school to learn. Our school is working hard to "Build a Community of Lifelong Learners." The school is a positive environment and a safe haven for our students.

My students attend a Title I school, where the majority of students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

The students in my class love school; every day the students come in smiling and ready to learn.

My Project

I have a very diverse group of learners. Being uncomfortable while trying to absorb and apply knowledge makes for a very long school day. Being comfortable sets students up for success. They are able to focus less on setting, and more on learning.

Students learn better when they are comfortable.

When students are comfortable, they are more motivated to learn. Flexible seating such as the Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats and Soft-Seats allow students to choose an area of the classroom where they are most comfortable. As students learn to take responsibility of their seating choices, they realize the importance of choice in learning.

These items will give my students the ability to choose a work space they feel comfortable in. They will be able to grab a Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seat or a Soft-Seat and find a comfortable place to work during our reading and math rotations. These seating options will be a great addition to our classroom and help students focus more in class.
