My Students

I have an energetic, loving group of kids! I work in a title 1 school in Arizona. My class is full of diversity. There are primarily English speaking students to mostly Spanish speaking. This can create a challenging environment for a teacher but what I love most about my kiddos is that they all work hard each day to be the best students they can be.

Each day, my students come into my classroom with a positive attitude and a desire to learn!

I realized quickly into my career as a teacher that all students need a positive teacher in their lives. I do my best each day to be that for them. They are bright, talented, and caring in so many different ways. They make me proud to be their teacher.

My Project

My students are all very different and all learn in unique ways. I would like to introduce flexible seating options into my classroom. Flexible seating allows students to be in control of their own learning. They choose where they want to sit and what will help them learn to their best ability each day. They will feel more positive each day and in turn more committed to their learning. This also allows students with challenges staying on task to be better focused. Students were able to focus and remain on task. Even with the small movements the chairs provided they felt more in control of their bodies and their learning behaviors.

I am looking to get 4 more Wobble Stools, and 10 Flex Space Balance Ball chairs.

Both of these types of chairs will help students to get their wiggles out while they sit and work! It is amazing how much more focused they become when they are not confined to sitting still in a standard school desk chair!
