Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Over half of my students qualify for our free school lunch program. Many live in migrant apartment housing. Several of my students' families work in the fields or do farm work as their job.

All of my students are learning two languages, both Spanish and English.

They are being taught daily in both languages.

All of my students are eager to learn. Their parents want them to work hard in school and make a better life for themselves so that they do not have to follow in their footsteps and do farm work.

My Project

In my first grade classroom I have a large amount of students who are young and really learn best when they are able to move and wiggle. These flexible seating choices would allow these students to still pay attention with the choice to wiggle around and still learn. I have an autistic student who really has a hard time staying focused because he is so active. Having a wobble seat for this particular student would really help him in the classroom. I also have several students who are energetic and like to wiggle, so these Wobble stools and cushions would really help them, as well.
