Hello, I am a 2nd grade special education teacher in rural New York. My students are from a low socioeconomic background and have a range of disabilities including autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit disorder, and learning disabilities. My students perform below grade level. They face many challenges in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges, it is my job to provide all of my students with the most creative and meaningful learning opportunities. From the moment they walk through the door, I see their potential for growth and am determined to help them meet their goals. I am looking to help my students meet their goals using flexible seating.
My Project
My classroom is composed of many special needs students that will benefit from flexible seating with these stools and seats. It will help them fidget, wiggle, and move around while staying seated during a lesson. The active learning stools will help them alleviate some of their struggles and behavior issues within the classroom.
All of the students in my room will benefit from using these chairs and stools.
It will help them learn more effectively and grow academically! They will be more comfortable and active while being able to focus more clearly. I feel this will make for a more positive and healthy learning environment in my classroom.
