My Project

Busy minds and busy bodies need flexible seating! In today’s academic setting, our students are faced with unprecedented anxiety and pressure. It has become my mission to bring some of the joy and fun back to first grade and lessen some of the academic pressures that my students face each day.

Flexible seating is key to relieving some of that stress and anxiety.

Allowing students to have some choice and responsibility in where they sit and how they learn, is an important tool in my classroom.

Responsibility, time management, and team work, are just a few of the characteristics that are taught by using flexible seating in my classroom.

Adding these new wobble seats will allow additional students to be able to participate in flexible seating each day. We use flexible seating throughout our day, especially during our ELA and Math centers. Students love to find a cozy spot to read or write with a friend. However, some students have trouble staying seated and these wobble seats will provide a comfortable alternative for those wiggly students. Flexible seating is the key to a happy first grade classroom!
