My Students

My students are English Language Learners. Most of them are newcomers to America. Even though they are scared, all I see are motivated individuals who deserve a great education. We live in Illinois. Ninety-nine percent of my students receive free lunch. The students need a lot of support from teachers, parents, and the community.

They simply need someone to believe in them.

They are smart individuals who can achieve excellence. I believe in them! I need you to believe in them, too!

My Project

This year I have noticed a lot of my students just can not sit still. I thought long and hard on how to help my students learn and feel comfortable at the same time. Flexible seating with wobble chairs will help them feel at home and give them opportunities to "move" while learning. I plan on using the wobble chairs as an incentive for coming to the kidney table to learn. All students will rotate and have an opportunity to use the chairs while learning at the kidney table everyday. Some may need to use the chairs more than others and that is perfectly fine as long as my students are learning and comfortable doing it!
