Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The third-grade students, I teach are hard-working scholars. I work at a Title I school in California with a diverse student population reflecting the wide diversity of our city. Many live in poor conditions and have two working parents. Because of this, they spend a lot of time at school. I believe that school should be a home away from home bursting with learning resources and fun.
My belief is that having a strong rapport with students is the biggest predictor of academic and social-emotional growth.
Active learning promotes this rapport and is a part of all that I teach. This style of teaching requires a wealth of learning resources along with a comfortable, flexible classroom environment. Because my student try their best to reach their highest potential, they deserve the best learning environment possible. Thanks in advance for helping me realize my vision of a creative, fun-filled classroom.
My Project
Do you remember the discomfort of sitting in a hard chair when you were in school? Students of today are thankfully now experiencing a whole new classroom experience with flexible seating. However, many schools don't have the funding to purchase these comfortable options for little people. So, I'm hoping someone generous out there will help me realize my vision of a comfortable classroom.
8 Trideer Inflated Stability Wobble Cushions KIDS Wiggle Seats and 5 Colorful stacking stools would create a place for students to escape the desk and learn in comfort.
This would give half of my class time away from their old-fashioned, hard as a rock chairs on a rotating system. Comfortable kids work harder and learn more.
