My Students

My students are amazing! They have tons of energy and love to learn. They like to be creative and have fun. They deserve the best education and classroom that I can give them! They come from a wide range of backgrounds and I love to see them all work and learn together.

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and some have very few experiences outside of the community they live in.

They enjoy learning about the world around them. I try to show them as much as I can through virtual field trips, videos, and photographs.

My Project

I implemented flexible seating last school year and have seen great results. The student love to learn in this environment. It is so helpful for them to have these options as not all students are successful in a desk and chair.

I purchased many of the seating options myself second hand and many have not been able to withstand classroom use.

I have had to get rid of many of the options as they have been broken by everyday wear and tear because they were in used condition when I got them. I am looking to add new seating that will hold up better in a classroom setting.

Both rocking chairs I have in my room are falling apart and need to be replaced. The students love being able to rock in the rocking chairs. The calm movement keeps them on task. I had an old bench for seating in the front of the room that was purchased at a garage sale. It is no longer able to be used as a leg broke. It is great to have a bench up front for whole group instruction and i would like to replace it with a sturdy option. I would also like to add bean bag chairs up front for whole group instruction. Many students prefer it over the floor. The video rockers are such a popular item I would like to add more!

Having a classroom with new seating options makes the kids feel proud of their room!
