Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First-grade students are active learners. Sometimes, things need to be changed so they can refocus on their goals. There are many ways to do this, but I found the best one is flexible seating.

Giving students the option of flexible seating helps them focus more on their work.

My students and I request stacking stools, soft floor cushions, and portable lap desks. These items are all used for varied purposes within the classroom. The stools are an alternative to a regular school chair. The floor cushions will be used as an incentive for working independently or with a partner while on the carpet. Students will use our portable lap desks as they need to move close to the board to see how to copy and find an alternative when using their laptops.
