My Students
The students I serve are second-grade elementary level students who have many reasons for needing extra care academically, socially, and emotionally. Some of my class consists of students with special needs. Ninety-eight percent of the students at our school are at the poverty level. A good portion of my classroom (98% of my students) are minority students. My students live in an area that has been hit hard by both Covid and by the riots and social injustices in the area. I believe that providing students with essential items that they need is vital to their success in learning at home or school.
My students need seating to help make them feel comforted and that helps them to focus.
Seats that allow students some movement and wiggle room will help them to focus on the learning and also help get the wiggles out

My Project
Students who have been experiencing stress and discomfort need to be able to come to school need to have comfortable seating to help them focus. My students who happen to live in Kenosha have experienced a lot of trauma and need the extra help of a wiggle chair to help them to focus. That is the reality we as teachers face each and every day right now, how best to support them. My students have a need to feel fed and cared for. This project helps to fill that gap and gives them that extra support.
Please consider helping me give students what they need to feel comforted and focused during their time at school.
I truly believe that having the tools to help them learn will have a large impact on learning and on their futures. For this reason I am requesting Wokki stools to help fill that need and help them to succeed.
