Flexible Seating to Create Stronger Collaboration and Engagement

Help me give my students trapezoid tables. This simple change in furniture will have a lasting impact on how students communicate, engage, and support each other in their learning journeys.

My Project

I teach a wonderful group of Kindergarten students who are energetic, creative, and eager to learn. We are a Title I school where over 100% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many of my students face challenges outside of the classroom. I strive to create a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment where they can grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

Many of my students thrive when they can work with peers, but our current classroom setup has limited flexibility, which makes it difficult for true collaboration to happen.

Having these tables will help students learn through collaboration and teamwork. Currently we have bulky tables that the student's trip over and are too large for them to work with each other collaboratively. We would be able to move around the room more freely and pick different areas to learn in the classroom. These tables will allow more room to move around freely and for them to work with partners during lessons.
