Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school every day excited to learn! My school is a Title I school with 92.9% of students coming from low-income families. There is a high percentage of Latino students at my school. I teach students who are learning English as a second language.

My students may come from low-income homes, but they are motivated to do well in school and they enjoy learning!

I'm the Special Education Case Manager at my school, and I also have a caseload of 6th and 7th grade students with disabilities. My students have various disabilities including intellectual disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, ADHD, other health impairments, visual impairments, and learning disabilities.

My Project

My students are so motivated to do well in school and learn, although they have been having a difficult time learning at home. They do not have the same supports and resources at their houses to support their learning, like they do at school.

My students need flexible seating to help them stay focused during remote learning!

My students would benefit from having a wiggle stool at home, so they are able to move in their seat while they work. My students would also benefit from small work areas on the floor. Many of my students don't have a work area for school in their homes.
