My Students

I work in a quaint school in a part of Virginia where country life meets city life. I believe that regardless of a child's background, they still deserve equal opportunities in my classroom. The students I teach are so full of life and have an unwavering love of learning. They always persevere when lessons may be a challenge to them.

It is admiring to watch and see a five year old come to life when they realize they have learned something.

Their excitement is so contagious over "growing their minds" as I tell them, that it makes me want to do more as an educator.

My Project

Whenever I am working on anything, I like to be comfortable. Flexible seating options offer students a choice in where they want to work in the classroom that will best meet their needs on a daily basis. I am requesting wobble stools because some students do their best work when able to move a little. My seat cushions will work great because students can take them anywhere in the room, even to a lowered table that will be on the ground! Allowing kids to have choices in their lives gives them a chance to have responsibility and accountability. Flexible seating offers a comfortable learning environment which leads to engaged learners and student success.
