This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating is on the rise in classrooms all across America! However, having different types of seating options can be quite expensive for teachers. Students are more active these days and need choices that best fit their learning. The stools will be a great way for my students to take charge of their learning and be able to understand when a different seating choice will be beneficial to their learning. We are in a low income, low socio-economic neighborhood. Fund-raising for such classroom necessities is limited.

The journals have proven in the past to the best way for my first graders to express their feelings in their daily journal entries.

In first grade, students are required to write every single day. They are also required to include an illustration with their writing. Most journals sold in stores do not come bound, nor do they come with an illustration spot. We call this "story paper." I have used these exact journals for 2 years and I have seen a huge improvement in my students' writing!
