Since the begin of the pandemic students haven't had a lot of time to work with each other and build relationships. With restrictions lifting I'd love to create a flexible seating space where students can work together on a multitude of things.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is important and having a space where students can relax and work together will help to build their academic as well as social skills!
I have a carpeted reading area in my room that with a little love can be transformed into a welcoming space where students can grow together. Working in an relaxing, comfy and inviting space will help students to feel close and connected.
The possibilities of it's uses are endless. I can use it to teach small groups or do small group discussions. Students can use it to work on projects, crafts, group assignments or even just for down time with friends to build relationships.
The space can also be used as a safe space for those students that need a break or calm time.
Working with a population that includes general education, special education and at risk students, this space would get so much use and make a huge difference in the growth of many students.
