"Diverse" is a great word to explain the student population at my school. We are in our first year of Title 1l status; over 2/3 of our students are "students of poverty" and over 1/3 of our students speak a language other than English, representing 24 different languages.
"Look at me" or "Look what I did" are the phrases I most often hear throughout my day.
The students who don't speak English, simply grab my arm to show me their accomplishments. I have a classroom full of students who are eager to learn and are eager to show what they know!
My Project
All children are different and they all learn differently. Some need to fidget, some need to stand, some need to move and some need to lie on their tummies...and some enjoy traditional seating. Offering students stadium seats for the floor, or low tables, lap tables for the floor, and kick bands for chairs will give children the options they need to achieve.
Flexible seating has been proven to improve student performance, and I want to give my students every opportunity to achieve and succeed!
I'm inspired by new and evolving teaching methods that will help me to inspire my students to become life-long learners.
The wireless listening center and headphones will help our students use multimedia in a variety of locations throughout the room and with their flexible seating devices.
