Our classroom is a family that consists of thirty-eight eager-to-learn kindergarten students in a Title I school in Houston, Texas where all of the students receive free lunch.
The majority of my students come from single-parent households where they struggle to make ends meet, but despite their difficulties, they always come into our classroom with smiles, eager to learn.
I want to provide my students with unique learning experiences in and out of our classroom that they can carry through life.
Many of my students and their families were affected by hurricane Harvey and I am trying to make them feel welcomed and secure in my classroom. I also want them to feel like their world is going back to normal after such a tragic event.
My students all have different learning styles and seating preferences. I want to be able to accommodate my students so that they choose the way that they prefer to sit to practice their math workstations and during our whole group instruction.
The flex space balance balls will provide my students that need to be moving around while learning the ability to do so without bothering their classmates.
They will provide a bouncy comfortable option to sit on instead of the hard classroom chairs that we currently have. I want to be able to offer my students the opportunity to choose how they prefer to sit.
