Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing. I have very sweet, fun, enthusiastic learners. The majority of my students are ESL. I have four languages represented in my classroom. Even with the variety of language, my students treat each other with respect and love playing and learning together.

My students are excited and happy to walk through the classroom door each morning!

The neighborhood my school is in is a high poverty area. However, and most importantly, their environment does not define them, and it does not deter them from loving their time at school!

My Project

I have used flexible seating in my classroom for the last several years. During that time, I have noticed several positive things about having flexible seating! First, giving students choice of where they learn has allowed them to have more ownership of their learning. Second, flexible seating has also increased students abilities to focus on longer tasks.

I want to add more flexible seating options, now that I have experienced, first hand, what a difference it makes!

I want to add new carpet spots and hula hoops as options for learning on the carpet. I also want to add a new corner rug that will allow students more seating options than just our current classroom rug! I know by having even more flexible seating options my students will be that much more successful!
