My Students
Hello! My name is Lindsay, and I am working with a diverse population of students with varying needs. I have students who struggle with learning due to their challenges in controlling their emotions. Many days we are together in our classroom for 4-5 hours without a break. My students cannot sit at a traditional desk for this length of time. They need options! I would love to provide a classroom for my students with many flexible seating options. We have a comfortable reading nook with a carpet and bean bag chairs but not much else. My students have so much untapped potential that is waiting to be pulled out. Please support their ability to grow!
My Project
My students have a range of needs and disabilities. My classroom only currently provides them with traditional seating options. Unfortunately, these are not always the best or ones that work for their needs. Many of my students crave opportunities to sit on the floor or on one of the two bean bag chairs we have. The seating in this project will allow my students to remain seated at their desks, the kidney table, or even in a group circle without being distracted or causing disruptions to the day. Non-traditional seating options are necessary for each one of my amazing students!
