Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a very diversified setting. My students come from all walks of life and each one brings an amazing personality to the classroom. I strive to find the leader and motivator in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for acceptance. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
Often times many of my students come from homes that are struggling.
School is their safe haven and I am their safe place. They come with a lot of baggage, more than an 8 and 9-year-old should ever have to bear. I am always trying to find new ways to help make their day the best it can be!
My Project
My students crave the option of getting out of their chairs and using other seating opportunities. Recently, we were gifted a few choice seating options, and they absolutely fell in love. They are thriving in my classroom, and I have never been more happy for them.
I want nothing more than to give more students the chance to have this opportunity on a more regular basis.
They deserve the absolute best foot forward everyday in order to learn to the best of their ability. If that means me giving them a more comfortable chair, than I would like to try and provide that.
