My Students

My classroom is an inclusive classroom with students coming from various backgrounds. Some students are experiencing school for the very first time. Others have been exposed to pre-school or daycare settings.

My kindergarten students are energetic, fun-loving and excited about school.

They love to learn through hands-on opportunities. At this age, they need an opportunity to grow and develop socially and emotionally as well as academically.

Our school is a Title I building. We use community resources to provide extra food and supplies for our low-income families.

My Project

Students enjoy having choices in the classroom. This provides them a sense of ownership and comfort which often leads to better student engagement. Flexible seating also helps to meet the sensory needs of students. Allowing a student, with special sensory needs, to choose a different seat can help alleviate some of the agitation he/she may be feeling. Flexible seating can help meet student sensory needs to rock, wobble, or bounce.

Flexible seating is a great way to accommodate the social, academic and sensory needs of all the children in my classroom.

Comfy Floor Seats, Giant Pillows and Soft Seats will be used in a variety of settings. Students will have options to use these seats while working independently, with a buddy, during whole group instruction or during center time. In my classroom, I currently have wobbly stools as one flexible seating option. With your donation, I can provide more options to benefit more students!
