Help me give my students flexible seating options to help them stay focused through movement

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is a daily sound in my classroom: the crash of a student falling to the ground in their chair. Many of my students need the sensory input provided by leaning, rocking, or tilting back in their chairs, and this movement often helps them to focus on their learning. However, the daily CRASH is quite unsafe. We need a better solution!
This is where flexible options for seating come in.
I have chosen a stool and seat cushions which will allow students to move as they sit, in a safer manner. I have also requested two lap desks which can be placed on a desk to create a standing desk or used on the floor in a seated position. Any of these options will help students improve core strength, posture, and overall health, while helping them to better focus on the learning at hand. These seating options will also serve as motivation for students who would like to earn the opportunity to use them.
Just like many adults, some students work better and stay more focused when allowed to move or when seated in a non-traditional position. As teachers it is our job to seek the solutions that will help our students be healthy and successful. I appreciate your support of my work to do just this, and your consideration of this opportunity for my classes.
