Help me give my students a comfortable learning environment! I know the students will be so appreciative of the stools to use for small group time and will love being able to be comfortable too!
I am a first year teacher! The school I work at is a title 1 school. I absolutely LOVE these kiddos and my job! My school is very diverse and full of love! We’re located in Knoxville, TN. The majority of my students live in poverty and most have very little home support. I just can’t imagine some of the conditions my students live in. A lot of them don’t even have a heavy coat to get through our harsh winters! That is why I want to create a positive, safe, warm, and welcoming classroom environment, but I will need your help in doing so!
My Project
Flexible seating options will really help my students stay focused and engaged instead of focusing on being uncomfortable. I want my classroom to be their home away from home and somewhere they feel they can truly be themselves! By the end of the school year I hope all of them look at each other and myself as family.
Most of my students are squirmy, full of energy, and have a hard time concentrating.
Just like me, sitting in the same uncomfortable seat/position all day everyday has got to be difficult, uncomfortable, and frustrating!! I believe we could change the course of their learning with a this simple fix.
Imagine yourself sitting in the same seat and position for 8 hours straight. It would be hard to concentrate for sure, right? That’s why I want to give them plenty of flexible seating options. That way I can ensure their learning is exactly where it should be! Our team (my students and I) would appreciate anything you’re able to do for us! I just know they're going to be so appreciative of your generosity!
