While my students come from different ethnic backgrounds and varying home lives, when we are together, we are a family with the same goals and aspirations of bettering ourselves. The 30 fourth graders that walk into our classroom every morning are full of joy, excitement, and a passion for learning about this great big world.
It is my aspiration to guide them in the proper direction, opening up their minds and their worlds to new ideas, concepts, and experiences, and allowing them to discover who they are as individuals.
Students learn best in comfortable and motivational settings, these soft seating options will provide a welcoming learning environment for the students to engage in their learning.
Providing flexible seating options for my fourth graders will increase motivation, encourage engagement, and improve the level of physical activity.
As we all know, it's exhausting, and uncomfortable sitting in the same chair all day. I like to let the students move around the classroom as much as possible to prevent boredom and keep them engaged. This project will provide students the ability to choose where they sit in the classroom. Whether it be a stability ball, carpet, mat, soft seating, pillow, their desk, or a bean bag, this encourages the freedom to choose and create an environment that fits each students' individual needs.
