My Project

My students are ready to become empowered learners through the use of an exciting and innovative new classroom environment. My students come from diverse backgrounds and economic statures. Many of the children have limited abilities and strategies on how to increase attention and focus as well as promote a growth mindset and positive self-control.

Due to this limited ability, many of the students have difficulty with concentration and problem-solving.

There are also those students who need to be enriched by promoting thinking and memory as well as expanding creativity. Since my second grade students have a great range of abilities, creating a flexible seating environment will help all students succeed is a must!

Flexible seating provides children with a choice as to the type of seating option for daily activities. Various types of chairs and tables will help create a fun and inviting classroom environment as well as improve their attention spans and focus.

Flexible seating can create short-term health benefits for all students.

Short-term health benefits can include better oxygen flow to the brain, increase in focus, and appropriate posture. Not only can the flexible seating improve short-term health benefits and the classroom environment but more so encourages collaboration, academic support, and self-directed learning. Many children need extra encouragement and an environment where they feel safe and secure to take risks and work collaborative. Encouraging collaboration and self-directed learning enhances the students' education as their self-esteem increases and become risk-takers in all economic stature situations.
