My students need flexible seating to promote learning for all types of learners in the classroom. The Hokki stool allows the freedom of flexible seating, increases well-being and encourages the physical and intellectual maturing process.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located in East New York, Brooklyn and services the students and families of the local community. I work in a growing Title I school, with students from all backgrounds and many needs. My students not only bring with them a diverse background, but also, hardships, laughter, quirks, and intelligence.
Enter my classroom, or any classroom at my school and you can see students hard at work- improving their writing and reading, grappling with a math problem, or exploring a hypothesis.
But the truth is, school is not the hardest part of their day. I envision a classroom that is a safe place for learning, where students can learn from each other, collaborate, and find success. I believe that with the right resources, our classrooms can become that place for students.
My Project
Inclusivity is an element of classroom culture that I strive for. The use of flexible seating will allow my students to discover how learning works best for them, and encourage students to explore their needs and learning style. Students with ADD or ADHD, as well as others who require movement to focus, will benefit from the use of The Hokki stool. Hokki stool is just a small step in my plans to implement a flexible seating plan which will promote the idea that everyone learns differently.
Your generous donation to our project will improve our eighth grade classroom by building a classroom that embraces all learners.
