Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students enjoy moving around the room and spreading out when reading, especially in the Reading Nook. With these chairs, my students will not have to just sit on the floor to read but have another option. Flexible seating will give my students an inviting comfortable place to sit and read, while learning is taking place in our ELA 4th grade classroom. Small group reading is the bulk of my reading block. For most of the class my students are meeting with me, while the rest are reading and completing their work.

These chairs will give my readers the flexibility to move around the room and sit elsewhere when reading.

Additionally, having flexible seating will provide my students with an inviting Reading Nook where they can sit comfortably as they get lost in a good book.

I would love to offer my students these flexible seating options as a choice, and to help make our classroom a more inviting and beautiful place to be.
