Flexible Seating in the Classroom for Kindergarteners

My Project
After much reflection over the last school year in my kindergarten classroom, I have decided to change things up in my classroom. I am abandoning the traditional tables and chairs and moving towards a "flexible seating" classroom. This means my kindergarteners will not be restricted to where they will be sitting, and instead will choose where they feel they will learn best in the classroom. I have read several articles that have outlined the benefits of this particular type of layout, which include an increased ability to focus on the task at hand and more positive behavior choices.
One of the key resources I will need in order to make this transformation happen is the lap desks.
These will provide students with an option to have a hard surface to complete tasks that require writing.
The second important resource I am requesting are the wobble cushions. These will provide opportunities for "getting out those wiggles" that kindergarteners typically have and will help them to refocus and remain working on the task at hand.
Finally, but not directly related to the flexible seating format, are the Sterilite Containers. These containers are ideal for housing center activities with their easy-locking lid and slim design.
