Help me give my students flexible seating to help with classroom management and student success. It has provided my students the opportunity to focus on creating their art!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Through flexible seating, my students have been able to focus on their projects in my art room. However, I only have a few options, so the kids have to cycle through, only getting to use them every other week or so. Adding more flexible seating would help with my classroom management and provide students the opportunity to thrive in my room.
My school is currently transitioning from a high school to a middle school.
So, classroom management has been a new challenge and journey this year. At the start of the semester, I got a new rug in my room. The students were so excited to have a comfortable workspace. Some of my students who struggle behaviorally have used this space to stay out of trouble. Giving my students the option of flexible seating has provided them the opportunity to focus on their work, rather than being uncomfortable in their stools and getting distracted by their classmates.
I hope to add more flexible seating in my classroom and would appreciate any help in doing so!
