Flexible Seating in Math Class!

Help me give my students flexible seating in the classroom. Many students want a different option to the traditional chairs and while at my table doing small group instruction I would like my students to have that option.

My Students

My students are so full of life! As a teacher I am still trying to compile a classroom full of math manipulatives and organizational tools that will help my students grow but my students are just genuinely happy to be at school and in math class with me no matter what we have to work with. They are 4th graders who still love their teacher and have a passion for learning. I live and teach in a small rural town which comes with challenges. Many of my students come from low income families and live in poverty. Anything and everything is new and exciting to them which is why I love them so much. The smallest of gestures can mean so much in their young lives and they are quick to let me know how grateful they are. I have 87 students I see daily in 4 class periods. Each students hold their own personal growths and challenges. Our school moto is to #GrowTogether and that is what we strive to do everyday together! Thank you for taking the time to read my story and learn a little about my students.

My Project

My students work primarily in stations during class. One of those stations is small group instruction with the teacher. I would like the flexible seating chairs because we do not have enough chairs in the classroom so students must bring their chair from their desk to my table when they rotate to my station. This can get chaotic and make transitions a bit hectic. My students would also love to be able to change things up from a traditional chairs and enjoy the flexibility of these seats. These chairs will help my students transition and be comfortable in the classroom.
