This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I want them to know I believe in them, and they can do anything.
My school is a Dual Immersion school that serves students in grades K-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment.
My students come from diverse school experiences, language abilities and backgrounds. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, and they all have different learning needs.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a home. In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door!
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them.
Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them.
I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are sitting at the tables.
The wobble chairs will give them the opportunity to move while working. This is essential for those students who need to get the wiggles out. The cushions will give my students the opportunity to find a place to work other than the tables. The portable caddy will help facilitate accessing materials from wherever students may choose to sit.
