My Students
My students are bright and caring children. They love to work together and learn in active ways! Our school is arts-integrated, which means we teach concepts through the arts, including drama, visual arts, creative movement, and creative writing. We also teach and foster collaboration as a key cornerstone in our curriculum.
Our students learn how to work as a group through the creative process. They take pride in their work and love to celebrate each other's accomplishments. Our school is such a positive environment!
My Project
Flexible classrooms give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them, and help them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking. I want to create this kind of 21st Century classroom for my students. The seating options I have chosen will help students be comfortable and they can choose between standing, lying on the floor, and sitting on pillows and yoga balls. I know I love sitting on the floor when I work on my laptop. I want my students to be able to make that choice for themselves if they need to.
