Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 2nd grade students are full of energy and excited about learning. My students come with a wide variety of background knowledge and experience as at least 50% of our students come from a low socioeconomic families.

Despite their differences, they love to collaborate and work with their peers.

This works perfectly as our school started a small group first teach, where students travel through rotations with their peers and have fun centers, technology based programs, and visit with me for their reading and social studies lessons.

My Project

I would like to purchase an educational "Good Friends” carpet to hold our class SEL morning circles. This is where we start our day off and talk about our emotions, build strong friendships and give students a chance to get their feelings and voices heard.

I would also like to purchase a variety of Animal Storage Bean Bag Chairs to provide my students alternative seating opportunities.

Students need a variety of seating as some find it hard to sit still, or focus in traditional desks and chairs. I want to encourage my students to learn in any way they feel comfortable because no one has the same learning needs.
