This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students love learning and are excited to come to school every day. I work to create a fun learning environment through different classroom transformations, incorporating technology and having flexible seating. I love that my students enjoy their classroom. They express joy and awe when they walk into their classroom. Our students are not provided with state of the art resources and should be given an opportunity to excel in all areas. Our students are loving, caring, and compassionate. They help each other and cheer each other on every day. They inspire me to be a better teacher and I am always looking forward to seeing them every day!

My Project

Flexible seating helps me create a classroom where student's voice is important. Students enjoy having options when it comes to their classroom seating. Students are not assigned a seat however, they are in charge of choosing where they will focus and learn best. I create an environment that is not a traditional straight rows and single desks. I allow for student choice where collaboration and excitement occurs naturally. These standing desks, collaboration tables, stability balls, wobble stools help create an environment where students can move furniture around and easily to join students in collaborative work. Students are constantly doing subtle movements that research shows that they are able to focus and engage in their learning.
