it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 5th grade students are amazing! They come from all different backgrounds and put so much effort into their learning each day. Their home lives are not always the easiest. We are in a very low-income community where they don't always know what the next day holds.
The students are deserving of so much more than I can give them on my own.
With a small classroom budget to work with, I try to buy things on my own, but can not always get everything they need. Even with the many challenges they face in and out of school, they always come with a positive attitude and yearning to learn and succeed further in their educations.
My Project
The flexible seating options that we are asking for would be greatly appreciated by my students and myself. We are implementing reading stations at our school and these would make that more enjoyable for the students.
Flexible seating is good for the students because it allows them to work in different areas and at different types of seats.
The students stay more engaged and it is nice to see them actively learning in class. The dry erasable dots for the reading table help the students to get out their ideas without having to always pull out a pencil and paper to write things down on.
