My Students
I teach third grade in a Title One school in southwest Missouri. We serve approximately three hundred and fifty students, kindergarten through fifth grade. I have an amazing group of our third-graders consisting of children from different backgrounds. Most of our school's population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch, almost ninety percent. Because my students may not have as many opportunities as other children, I would like to provide them with as many good quality resources at school as I can.
My Project
The tractor seats I'm requesting for my students would make a great addition to our small group reading area! Students would be able to have a little freedom to move as we read and learn! Having the tractor seats could increase productivity during reading groups by allowing students the chance to move while they're learning! They would also encourage students to come over to meet with the teacher more often, knowing they would get a chance to spin and roll just a bit! The stools could also be easily moved around the room during collaboration time or to set up a panel of students or presenters at the front of the room.
