This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious about the world around them, and love to discuss what they think and feel on a variety of topics. A large number of my students are English language learners, so classroom discussions are especially critical to their continued development. They love to learn new information and surprise me every day with the deep questions they ask and the ​connections they make. They, in particular, love discussing different parts of the world, and finding the places on the map and globe!

My Project

Not every student can do their best work sitting still in a chair. Some students do better when they can bounce or fidget. The human body does not like sitting for long periods of time, and in the traditional classroom set up this is what is expected of students. My students need options for them to work more productively in our classroom. They need to be able to figure out what works best for them. Providing them flexible seating choices will allow greater focus and productivity in all content areas. Some kids need to bounce, others wobble. By giving them choices, they can pick what works best for them.
