This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are faced with many challenges inside and outside the classroom due to their socioeconomic status. Our school is a Title I school where all of our students receive free or reduced-price meals. The majority of my students are also faced with the challenge of learning English as their second language. Despite the many challenges that my students face, they are capable of so much and I know they can be successful. My students work hard and they are excited and eager to learn.
My goal is to create an environment for my students that is inviting, engaging, and meaningful.
My classroom is a safe place where learning is fun but adds meaning to their lives. Thanks to your donations I will continue to be able to do whatever I can to help my students succeed and move on to be successful members of society.
My Project
I am requesting surf desks and whiteboard materials to make flexible seating in math fun. These materials will help to make the classroom more than just tables and chairs. Flexible seating like surf desks will allow students to move around the room and still be able to work efficiently with the whiteboard supplies.
I want our classroom to feel like a home and less like somewhere they have to be, flexible seating will help students feel comfortable within the building to grow emotionally and instructionally.
Surf desks and math workshop supplies such as whiteboard erasers and workbooks will open up the classroom to movement, which will increase the level of fun we can have during our daily lessons throughout the year.
