Flexible Seating for the High School Classroom

My students need age-appropriate seating such as chairs, desks, and foot hammocks to help them stay focused and on task in math class!

My Students

I work with students to better understand Algebra and its content. The students have different levels of Algebra knowledge. Students enjoy working with each other to better understand the concepts. The students come from a rural, manufacturing community. The students thrive with hands on and relatable applications. Moving around the classroom and breaking up the typical classroom has been helpful in their learning. The students also respect being able to make chooses with their education. Students leave my classroom better prepared for live outside the classroom.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students only have one option.

Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them.

I am hoping to notice amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating.

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The desks and chairs are adjustable and will allow students to sit at desk/higher tables but will still allow some movement with the foot hammock. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. They can also be used as an alternative chair if needed!

I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
