I teach in a school with some of the most talented, kind and motivated students. However, a large majority are low income and struggle with meeting even basic needs. Many of the students have problems with impulse control as well as the need to move around. Flexible seating options would really help our class. The children need to be able to move and wiggle and also sit on what is comfortable for them. I have read a lot about these options and feel it would be beneficial for my students!
My Project
Flexible seating, such as balance balls and wiggle stools will help some all of my students. I have some that teeter in their chairs constantly, which is not safe. I would love to have some flexible seating options to help them be able to focus more on me as the teacher, while still being able to move a bit. I think it would help especially with those who have some learning problems. I believe it will help them to be able to focus. We have a teacher using flexible seating and she loves it! I feel that all of the students should have something!
