2nd grade is an exciting year, where students have many learning opportunities, from formulating strong reasons for their opinions to posing questions and creating solutions to real-world challenges.
My students are inquisitive, thoughtful, and eager to learn, and they deserve a classroom that fosters their curiosity, creativity, and out-of-the-box ideas!
I believe that in creating a safe and supportive learning environment, my students will feel inspired to take risks and embrace the challenges that are part of trying new things.
My Project
I am excited to start building flexible seating options in my classroom as a way to foster student choice, engagement, and collaboration.
Flexible seating will provide my students with the opportunity to decide what seat choices best suit their learning needs.
With your support, we will be kick-starting flexible seating in our classroom with wobble seats and cushions, lap desks, stools, and step-stools. The wobble seats and cushions will benefit my active students, who need some movement while they problem-solve. The stools will support my students during pair- and small-group work. The floor seats will provide a comfortable seating option during reader's and writer's workshop.
