Flexible Seating for Sensory Learning!

My Project

The products that I have selected will help my students with autism by giving them additional seating and privacy options to make more effective learning choices. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Traditional classroom seating can be disruptive and bothersome for students with autism because the hard materials do not provide them with sensory input, and the sound of chairs moving across the floor can be too loud for many of my students.

With these items, my students with autism will have flexible seating that engages their sensory input needs and privacy to avoid distractions, both allowing them to be more focused on instruction.

The portable wall will provide my students with privacy while working so they can be focused on instruction without seeing distractions from other students. The bouncing ball chair will allow my students to move while working and provide sensory input that cannot be given with a traditional desk chair. The wobble seat will allow students to still remain at their desks and get their wiggles out while they work. The rainbow mat will allow for working activities on the floor, which is a preferred method for many of my students. The saucer chair and bean bag chair will provide opportunities for additional comfortable seating during group times.

With these items, my students can have more choices for how and where they would like to complete their work, which will help them continue to grow with more attention and motivation during instruction.
