Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Over the 20 years I've been a teacher, I've seen education change for my students. Technology has helped make their learning easier, but sometimes we forget that our students are kids, and we need to foster their curiosity while also preparing them for the real world. School supplies like paper, pens, and dry-erase markers will help replenish a low inventory of those supplies in the classroom.

Please help me help my students with added technology, seating to foster learning, and materials to give the students a coffee shop vibe.

I would like to purchase a Kindle Fire and Kindle Paperwhites with this donation. This will help my students who may need assisted technology to read primary and secondary sources. I would also like the cases to ensure they don't break. I would also like a pair of air pods with a noise-canceling feature for students who may benefit from a quiet atmosphere. In addition, a class set of headphones will allow my students to listen to podcasts, ambient music, or videos on their Chromebooks.

The furniture, the double seat, the single chair, and the picnic table will help with flexible seating options. I want to prepare them for opportunities to study and learn like they would as adults studying in college. The coolers can help keep items like water available for my students. Finally, the coffee makers, k cups, tumblers, and a heated mug can allow my students to use my classroom as a study space before/after school for years to come.

Finally, I would like a portable DVD player. This can allow me to modify understanding by using DVD's of concepts that a student may struggle with.
